Sophisticated style and Puerto Vallarta charm characterize Hacienda San Angel, a masterpiece restoration of four classic Vallarta-style houses overlooking expansive Banderas Bay, almost in touching distance of the historic town center´s landmark church spire.
Adding a certain elite mystique, a grand lounge is located in what was once Richard Burton and his wife Susan´s home. Winding paths with tropical gardens, a fountain, and ample statuary interlace with the houses, which are completed in a soothing palette of ivory, adorned with colonial tile and fine woodwork, and filled with exquisite antique furniture and Mexican art.
Repose is sublime is any of four "water areas": three pools and a rooftop Jacuzzi, each with different traits, from city views to trickling fountains.
Complimentary continental breakfast is served in the comfort of guests´ suites daily and afternoon cocktail hour is a convivial celebration that features live groups performing traditional romantic Mexican music, compliments of the house. Hacienda San Angel Gourmet, the hotel´s romantic open-air restaurant serves cuisine prepared by acclaimed chef Andre Mercier seven nights per week.
A stunning open-air event space and wedding chapel are also available to guests. Set directly behind the colorful church bell tower and offering views of the bay and the charming terra cotta roofscape all around, the Puerta del Cielo chapel is an awe-inspiring location for events of all kinds.
The Hacienda is located in perfect proximity to stellar restaurants, the lively boardwalk, eclectic shops, art galleries and popular Los Muertos beach. This is an adult-oriented haven, designed for romance, and delivers and exclusive and singular experience thanks to its location and design.
Consider This ... Hacienda San Angel´s exceptional location in Puerto Vallarta makes it a most sought-after hotel, even though it is not on the beach in one of Mexico´s prime beach destinations. Anyone wishing to explore Vallarta will find their haven here, and those who´d only like a taste can perfectly combine a stay at a more secluded hotel with a few nights in this central pied-a-terre. Casa de Mita and Las Alamandas resort are favorite couplings for this hotel.
You´ll Especially Love Hacienda San Angel offers complimentary snacks during a cocktail hour with live music on most days.
You May Want To Know Light sleepers must keep in mind that Puerto Vallarta´s Guadalupe church is very close to the Hacienda and the church bells may take some getting use to. For most travelers though, they are part of the sounds of the destination and a charming addition to the experience.
Also, please note that the owners´ pet pups are on the hotel premises.
What´s Fabulous Here The impressive view over the city´s main church, with the bay beyond. The antiques in every room, the Bulgari toiletries, the cocktail hour with live musicians, the three swimming pools and hot tub, and the terrace fine dining restaurant with a panoramic view.
Who It Would Appeal To Those who appreciate personal service, extreme attention to detail, antiques and a perfect city location.

Six golf courses to choose from!
Golf is becoming a way of life here on the Mexican Riviera. Picture teeing off in the tropical breezes of Banderas Bay or the Pacific Ocean, courses lined with palm trees and vibrant tropical flowers, personal bilingual caddies and beautiful clubhouses with open-air dining and views of the greens. Think of pro shops equipped with everything you need or want and state-of-the-art courses that offer an optional 19th hole on an island. Condo-side courses, beachside courses, resort courses, private courses, public courses are what make golf in Puerto Vallarta.

Guest Comments "...We had a wonderful stay at Hacienda San Angel and hope to return. The service was wonderful and the staff warm and friendly. We loved the location and the ability to walk anywhere in old Puerto Vallarta and then return at night to our own little piece of Paradise. I think I may have taken most of my photos of Puerto Vallarta right there within the walls of Hacienda San Angel..." K. Solem, USA. February, 2008.
"Thank you so much for all that you did for us while we were in Mexico. The time we spent at the Hacienda was beyond anything we ever expected. What a place. We are highly recommending it to all of our friends. We can´t wait to come back. You were right, those two rooms (San Miguel and Angel´s View) were perfect for us. The attention to detail, the staff´s professionalism, and the surroundings were excellent...We can´t wait until we can come back, It was the best!!!" P. Weeks, USA. January, 2008.
"...we had a really wonderful time... Our special dinner could not have gone any better, perfect weather. The tour to San Sebastian was really wonderful, Marcial proved to be the best. Our lunch there was delicious and truly a memorable experience. The entire trip, everything and everyone, was wonderful..." Mr. & Mrs. Marshall, USA. October, 2007.
In short, the nicest bed and breakfast I´ve ever stayed at. I was recently there with a group of friends for a birthday celebration and we were so comfortable there, we were tempted to skip seeing much of Puerto Vallarta and hang out by the pool on the upper deck, with its sweeping views of the city, great sea breezes, and wonderful pool-side service from the extraordinary staff at this ornately decorated trio of houses (really, chateaux) surrounding a peaceful courtyard. The food from the in-house restaurant was consistently freshly prepared and delicious; the chef made several spectacular dishes, including lamb chops and chicken mole, excellent soups such as cream of asparagus, as well as several unnamed hors d´oeuvres served at the nightly complementary cocktail hour (while serenaded by a mariachi band in the courtyard). Meals could be served anywhere within the compound; we had dinner on three nights outside on the upper deck near the pool while watching the sunset. NY, NY - May 2006
My sincere thanks for the chance to see this fantastic property. If all the Boutiques you represent are all like this one, you have a VERY winning product to sell. Dick Weinberg, ACC, CAS (travel and cruise specialist), Los Angeles, CA
We fell in love with Hacienda San Angel. It was the perfect setting for our honeymoon. The service was above excellent and the décor was very romantic and comforting at the same time. We will be back and are encouraging our friends to visit Puerto Vallarta and stay at Janice´s unique hotel. Thank you for the experience. The Garges, USA - June 2005
Press Comments "...he opened the door to Hacienda San Angel, revealing spacious tiled courtyards alive with brilliant foliage and the sound of trickling fountains. From the lobby, we could see one of the three pools in the distance, shimmering in the afternoon sun; staircases in every direction led to a labyrinth of secluded suites and dining areas. From a plain cobblestone street, we had crossed a threshold into another world. It was like magic." – Boca Raton Magazine, October 2007.
"Stunning views of rooftop gardens, tiled stairways and the landmark crown atop PV´s basilica entertain guests at this collection of restored villas artfully decorated with fountains, gardens and antiques. The hacienda is a member of Mexico Boutique Hotels (MBH), which represents several extraordinary properties in the area, including secluded beach hideaways..." – Star-Telegram.com, August 2007.
"...still dreaming of my lovely, breezy suite above the rooftops at Hacienda San Angel . . . aaahh. A rich tapestry of a story in itself, the inn is just the perfect oasis for upscale travelers in PV." – Karen Misuraca - Travel writer - January 2007.
"There are hotels. Then there are well-done hotels so special that they leave even the most jaded travelers slack-jawed and speechless. Hacienda San Angel, in the old city section of Puerto Vallarta, is the latter. Ask a guest who is staying there what he or she thinks of the place and the answer usually starts with, "I´ve stayed in a lot of hotels but...."
This is a boutique hotel in the true sense of the word, every nook and cranny doted over like a upscale store window display...This is a place where the details are not just attended to. They are fretted over, mapped out, redesigned, and painfully settled upon--with trepidation." – Hotelchatter.com - December, 2006. |
