LUXURIOUS QUINTA REAL PUERTO VALLARTA RECEIVES MEXICO BOUTIQUE HOTELS DESIGNATION
Six million dollar investment creates Puerto Vallarta's most alluring golf
and spa resort.
PUERTO VALLARTA, MEXICOAs excitement rises for the busy visitor season in
the charming resort of Puerto Vallarta,
Mexico Boutique Hotels is pleased
to announce the designation of the beautifully rejuvenated, redesigned and renamed
Quinta Real Puerto Vallarta as a new
member in its collection. A six million dollar (US) capital investment now positions
this hotel as the finest, intimate spa and golf resort in the city. In addition
to its already-existing attributes that include its setting between the first
and 18th hole of the Marina Vallarta Golf Course and its address in the prestigious
Marina Vallarta residential and resort community, two important new features have
been added, thanks to the capital infusion: a chic private beach club overlooking
the Bay of Banderas and the Gran Spa, a world-class spa facility.
Former visitors will have known this hotel most popularly as the Bel Air and later
as the Hacienda Cora. Further back, its history reveals that it was built 14 years
ago by Quinta Real Hotels, known in Mexico for their exquisite architecture, design
and positioning at the top end of the luxury category. Coming full circle, Quinta
Real again manages this hotel and has managed the capital improvements to the
company's reputable standards and style. This can all be experienced at exceptional
introductory rates currently being offered by Mexico Boutique Hotels (see below).
Mexico Boutique Hotels director general John Youden commented, "We are proud
to welcome Quinta Real Puerto Vallarta into our collection in its new incarnation.
It has become Puerto Vallarta's finest luxury resort and is perfectly fitting
to our criteria as a boutique hotel. At just 84 suites, it's a rare find here
and very intimate in contrast to the dominating mega-resorts. I consider it an
outstanding spa and golf haven loaded with romantic ambience."
Quinta Real Puerto Vallarta completes a trio of completely contrasting hotels
Mexico Boutique Hotels now has at all key points on the Bay of Banderas (North
America's largest bay on which Puerto Vallarta is located)those being the
elegant and casual
Casa Las Brisas near Punta de Mita and the rustic and
primitive
Majahuitas at the extreme south end. A visitor here can make
some great combinations for the quintessential Puerto Vallarta vacation, depending
on their lodging style and location preferences-three nights here, four nights
there, for instance.
Making Quinta Real unique in Puerto Vallarta is its very private and expansive
propertyan oasis of expansive gardens enveloping a golden, sandcoloured
hacienda-style building and a picture-perfect pool. The arches of the hacienda
provide a cool path to guest rooms, a library with Internet access, the full-service
Gran Spa, a chic lobby lounge and the reputed
El Candil restaurant.
The lobby and outdoor lounge and dining terrace are now framed by an impressive
fresh water pond adorned by sculptures. Public areas and it spacious guest rooms
have been redone in a contemporary Mexican design in an ivory and gold palette
with lively dashes of mandarin and yellow tones. The 700 original Sergio Bustamente
masks that were always considered a precious feature in the guest rooms have been
retained. Everything from faucets to fixtures has otherwise been completely replaced.
Comfort has been further enhanced with upgraded air conditioning and whisper-quiet
fans. Amenities are extensive and luxurious including Hermes products and superb
cotton suede robes.
The Gran Spa was developed by respected
spa consultant Diana Mestre which she classifies technically as a world-class
spa providing the four elements that are key to the solus per aqua philosophy
enhanced by a true ritualistic concept that invokes a sense of inner peace and
tranquility. The 6,000 square foot facility has five treatment rooms, a whirlpool,
sauna, steam room and pressure shower and offers 55 different services from body
wraps to massage, esthetics and salon services to the signature pre-hispanic stone
therapy. Its design is sleek and soothing with teak and rattan furnishings in
its relaxation areas and state of the art equipment in its treatment areas. Spa
products are Germaine de Capuccines and Phytomer. A comprehensive exercise facility
with yoga, tai-chi and meditation adjoins the spa and overlooks two outdoor Jacuzzis
and the gardens. Being such personal undertakings, Mestre fondly names each of
her spa projects and the Gran Spa she terms her "jewel spa" for its
elegance and its setting within a gem of a resort.
Food lovers have one of Puerto Vallarta's best restaurants within the hotel
El
Candil which has always played an important role in the annual Puerto
Vallarta Gourmet Festival. It offers contemporary Mexican and international haute
cuisine and is not above turning out a great breakfast-everything from a healthy
egg-white omelette to naughtier selections like chorizo scrambled eggs. With its
own herb garden and pastry kitchen, the emphasis is on freshness. Lunches are
light while dinners lean to the more formal. All interpretations prove creative
use of Mexican flavours and ingredients. Should a guest's fishing excursion have
yielded a marlin or dorado, the chef will prepare it "al gusto".
So complete in its offerings, this resort is perfectly suited to couples who may
choose between an active or passive vacation or a little of both. The hotel itself
provides the tranquility and elegance in which to relax, soak up the sun and get
lost romantically yet delivers Puerto Vallarta's diverse vacation experiences
either within its walls or within easy reach. One can board their golf cart immediately
at the hotel and enter the golf course. A short stroll away, guests can enjoy
the full-service Marina Vallarta with fishing and marine excursions or visit the
art galleries, boutiques and array of restaurants that line its boardwalk. Getting
out on the town is easy-just a 10 minute taxi drive puts guests in the lively
centre of Puerto Vallarta with its seaside boardwalk and myriad of shops, galleries,
restaurants, nightclubs and plenty of cultural events. For excursions further
afield (or a-sea), the hotel concierge will arrange everything from whale-watching
cruises or tree-top canopy tours to flight-seeing in the Sierra Madre mountains.
