EIGHT NEW MEXICO BOUTIQUE HOTELS OPEN DOORS TO NEW DESTINATIONS
Puerto
Vallarta, Mexico--Mexico Boutique Hotels director general John Youden
is pleased to announce the addition of eight new hotels to its unique
collection for 2001. From Mexico's northernmost colonial town, Álamos,
to Oaxaca in the south, the new hotels open up five new destinations
for travelers to explore while enjoying the hospitality experience
these unique lodgings offer. From historic buildings to chic resorts,
the varying concepts and locations of the new hotels exemplify the
diversity of the entire group.
Youden
commented, "This growth is another step in Mexico Boutique
Hotels' objective to bring more access to this niche of hotels which
represent the real allure of Mexico. We're confident there is demand
for inns like Hacienda de Los Santos and the town of Álamos
in Sonora, for example, and MBH is providing access to such choices
in Mexico."
The Hacienda de Los Santos,
located between the Sea of Cortez and the Copper Canyon, was built
for a wealthy silver baron in 1685. Two other haciendas with equally
colorful histories were added to the group: Hacienda
San Gabriel de las Palmas near Cuernavaca and Hacienda
Xcanatún near Mérida. All have been exquisitely
restored by their owners. In Mexico's heartland, the new hotels
are: Villa Rivera,
one block from the main square of San Miguel de Allende with stunning
vistas of the Parroquaia; Villa
Montaña, 38 rooms spread among a collection of cottages
with spectacular vistas of Morelia; and Mesón
Sacristía de Capuchinas, a converted 17th-century
mansion in Puebla. New in Acapulco is Villa
Vera, a landmark hotel of today which is credited for establishing
the jet-set there in the 60s. In the historic center of Oaxaca,
the Casa Cid de León is the smallest in the group with four luxury suites in an elegant
mansion.
