La Casa de la Marquesa is a masterpiece of restoration with service to match. Built in 1756 as a private residence, it's an outstanding example of colonial architecture. Still family owned, each suite is unique and decorated with fine antiques and objets d'art from around the world. The restaurant, Comedor de la Marquesa, sets an exquisite table with Mexican and international cuisine.

Mexico Boutique Hotels welcomes back Casa de Sierra Nevada, one San Miguel de Allende's finest treasures. Six colonial mansions have been exquisitely converted into an oasis of elegance and impeccable service. It recently inaugurated Sazón, a kitchen/tabletop store and exclusive cooking school housed in a magnificent 18th century casa in the heart of San Miguel de Allende.

La Casa de las Rosas is a tiny four-room treasure that awaits guests in the heart of colonial Morelia. Each room is individually designed with hand-made furniture and a unique selection of art, folk crafts, antiques, and decorative details to create an ambiance of elegance and warmth. The small restaurant, open to the public, is decorated with scenes of old Morelia and offers delicious regional dishes with an international touch and a selection of domestic and imported wines.

Downtown Guadalajara hides a sleek little secret: Clarum 101 is a hip, six room hideaway tucked away on one of the city's most beautiful streets. With no sign or markers, it's doors open to those who know how to find it. Each guest room has a similar style but a completely different vibe, enticing guests with comfort in style and cutting edge toys such as flat screen TVs and in-room iPods.

On the Pacific Coast:

Mexico Boutique Hotels also welcomes back the luscious Tamarindo. Located on the Costalegre, its twenty-nine refined villas surrounded by hundreds of acres of lush tropical jungle offer elegant furnishings, plush linens, exquisite millwork and contemporary interiors—plus a thatched roof over an open living room that brings nature up close and personal.

In the Mexican Caribbean:

CasaSandra, the newest member of Mexico Boutique Hotels, is a dream come true for Cuban writer Sandra and a simply gorgeous hideaway that personifies casual elegance. Located on the pristine Isla Holbox due north of Cancun, each of its 12 rooms is decorated with beautiful handcarved wooden furniture and fine amenties. CasaSandra's cuisine is a delightful mix of local specialties, Cuban favorites and even Asian-inspired dishes.

Called the "epitome of Mexican beach chic and unpretentious luxury", Ikal del Mar is known worldwide for its truly personalized service and unique touches. Sophisticated amenities, an eye for the beauty of the Mayan architecture, harmony with nature, supreme service and privacy are keywords for this wonderful retreat, which boasts 30 villas facing a white sand beach, each built with mahogany and stone, each with a private pool and a thatched palapa roof.

Boutique Journeys: Inspired Tours to Authentic Destinations

For some, the word "tour" is a turn-off, conjuring up images of colorful t-shirts, megaphones and all-inclusive buffet lines. Mexico Boutique Hotels and Journey Mexico—both trusted experts in the luxury travel industry—have taken that concept and turned it on its head. Their joint venture, Boutique Journeys, is a collection of inspired travels that allow their clients to experience the best of Mexico surrounded by the luxury to which they are accustomed.

Through this important new alliance, Mexico Boutique Hotels can offer a more complete menu of services to guests who wish to discover more than one destination. "Through this partnership with Journey Mexico—well-known purveyors of unique cultural and wilderness tours throughout this fascinating country—we're adding another level of service for our clients," said John Youden, General Director of Mexico Boutique Hotels. "Now they will be able to experience Mexico through out unique lodgings and visits to neighboring destinations—all the while cocooned in luxury and exquisite service."

True to its name, Boutique Journeys will only escort small groups, providing each one with incredibly flexible itineraries and highly personalized services. The first two journeys are to the heart of Mexico, highlighting colonial beauties and their environs. The first begins in Mexico City, one of the world's most fascinating cities, then winds its way through the Bajío to Querétaro, Mineral de Pozos, Guanajuato, Lagos de Moreno and Guadalajara. Along the way, patrons stay in Mexico Boutique Hotels' gem-like accommodations, such as La Casa de la Marquesa and Quinta Las Acacias. The second circuit begins in Guadalajara, the most Mexican of cities, home to mariachis, tequila and charros. From there, stops include Pátzcuaro and Morelia, a city of pink granite buildings, steeped in culture and history. Villa Ganz, La Mansión de los Sueños and Los Juaninos play host. Accepting groups from only two to 11 persons at the most, Boutique Journeys carefully plans these itineraries to allow guests to truly enjoy the best these cities has to offer, from restaurants to sights to marvelous accommodations.

Prices begin at approximately US$2,600.00 per person for a 9-day itinerary FIT, or US$2,900.00 per person, for a fully escorted tour. Beach extensions to Mexico Boutique Hotel properties on either the Pacific or the Caribbean can be added.

Mexico Boutique Hotels Presents More From Costa Vallarta Boutique Villas

Upscale villa vacations are all the rage with travelers looking for complete privacy and luxury in exotic destinations. With this in mind, John Youden launched a new website late last year that brings together the best of Mexico's Costa Vallarta area with years of experience in the hotel industry. The idea was to create a "virtual boutique hotel" where guests could book "rooms" in different, exotic settings in and around Puerto Vallarta.

Costa Vallarta Boutique Villas is a collection of luxury villas in and around Puerto Vallarta. What sets them apart is not only the stunning backdrop of verdant jungle, sandy beaches and deep blue water, but also the combination of fine architectural details, exquisite décor and the kind of service that has become renowned among those in the know. Fully staffed and catering to guest's every desire, these villas become the gathering places for families, the stage for intimate wedding celebration or simply an unforgettable getaway from the cares of the world.

This year, CVBV welcomed on board two new villas: Casa Tabachín, located in the famous "Gringo Gulch", and Villa del Oso, a dramatic home right on the beach. Because the villas have to meet such stringent guidelines, the group will expand cautiously to ensure the all the standards of quality are upheld. To become part of the collection, each property must pass inspection by the Mexico Boutique Hotels' management team, and be professionally operated and maintained to ensure a high quality of service. All properties must have a full staff and have been in operation at least one year, to ensure all glitches have been well taken care of. And, as with all MBH properties, membership with Costa Vallarta Boutique Villas cannot be purchased, but must be earned. Costa Vallarta Boutique Villas uses the reservations team for Mexico Boutique Hotels, who's staff will be personally familiar with each property. Concierge services will be added on as well, so the each property has services similar to those expected at any luxury or boutique hotel.
