MEXICO BOUTIQUE HOTELS EXPANDS TO OAXACA WITH CASA CID DE LEÓN AS NEW MEMBER
Oaxaca, Mexico--Mexico Boutique Hotels expands its reach to the city of Oaxaca with the addition of
Casa Cid de León to its collection of elite, private hotels of character in Mexico. Located in the historic centre of Oaxaca, Casa Cid de León unites one of the finest settings in the city with the highest level of hospitality. Formerly the family residence of owner Leticia R. de Cid de León, it has been transformed into an exclusive residence-hotel with four grand suites. Mexico Boutique Hotels director Yvette Vink commented, "Casa Cid de León meets the highest standards of hospitality and authenticity that Mexico Boutique Hotels has set for its members. We are proud to bring the hotel and the destination of Oaxaca to travellers through our on-line directory and reservations service."
The rich architecture and design for which
Oaxaca is known can be experienced in this very lodging. Cocooned within massive stone walls, each suite is unique in layout and decor, reflected by
terracotta floors, wood-beamed ceilings, hand-embroidered linens, antique curios and showcase furniture pieces. Cid de León poetically describes the ambience she has strived to create: "Every object has its own name, its own space, its own charm. Angels seem about to fly, dolls soon to awaken. Even light has its own niche, shadow its own corners."
The Bella Época, Dominica and Arjuanez suites each have one bedroom, a living room and an over-sized bathroom. The El Mío Cid, a family suite accommodating up to six persons, is on two levels with a
fireplace and direct access to the garden terrace. Amenities and complimentary services for all guests include fresh flowers, newspaper, continental breakfast, separate work area with computer
hook-ups, satellite television and complimentary airport transfer. Nightly room rates range from US$180.00 single to US$350.00 for six persons, plus taxes.
Cid de León is also a dedicated concierge, expertly directing her guests in their discovery of Oaxaca and its environs. Within a four block radius of the hotel guests can visit key sites such as the Alameda (main plaza) and cathedral, Santo Domingo Cultural Center, the Rufino Tamayo Museum, the Macedonio Alcalá Theater and the Soledad Temple. Oaxacan and international restaurants abound.
Guests are enthusiastically assisted with arranging visits to the many small villages surrounding the city where one can find Oaxacan handicrafts. Travellers may fly to Oaxaca via Mexico City on one of six daily flights operated at convenient hours by Aeromexico, American, Continental, Delta, Mexicana and United airlines.
