How was Mexico Boutique Hotels formed?
Mexico Boutique Hotels (also known as Hoteles Boutique de México) was created by director general John Youden, a Canadian who has lived in Mexico for 12 years and is a publisher and editor of Mexican travel and lifestyle magazines and creator of several websites (VirtualVallarta.com, PortalVallarta.com, MexicoPropertyRentals.com and mlsVallarta.com).
Youden's own travels led him to discover these elite Mexican hotels which he found shared the common theme of personalized service, outstanding design and a high level of cuisine. Captivated by their authenticity and contrasting lodging concepts-from "barefoot with linen" to sumptuous and refined-he was moved to share these "secret spots" with readers of Yates y Villas in a series of profiles. Considering their attributes fitting to the "boutique" label, the series ran under the banner Hoteles Boutique de México.
The evolution from magazine profiles to full-fledged representation and marketing support company was inspired by enthused hotel owners who received extraordinary reader response. It was reinforced by travel industry eagerness to access this type of vacation experience for customers. Also cognizant of the challenges the consumer had in learning of such travel opportunities and to efficiently and economically make a reservation (lack of toll-free services or independent web sites), Youden created a comprehensive marketing and promotions program that would answer all the needs identified.
What is a boutique hotel?
A boutique hotel is one intimate in size, able to deliver personalized service. It is to its guest what a custom-made suit is to the wearerunique in design, individual in style and character, and rendering a feeling of absolute comfort and luxury. Cuisine must meet the high standards of the lodging.
Mexico Boutique Hotels further offers the traveler the opportunity to discover the diverse regions of Mexico from Pacific lagoons to Caribbean splendor and colonial havens in between, offering an assured standard throughout.
Settings range from natural sites such as deserted beaches, protected reserves or jungle oases to towns of historical and cultural significance. Lodgings range in style and mood, some located in historic buildings, others an example of modern Mexican architecture.
Additional services may include one or more of the following on or nearby the property: spa, gym, health club; pool; beach; tennis courts; golf course; yacht club; marina; access to nature, aquatic or other recreational activities; meeting rooms; business center.
Why was the web chosen as the prime vehicle for MBH's service?
The web is the fastest growing method of travel booking today. It is efficient and economical as a reservation and information source for the traveler and as a distribution vehicle for the hotels. It allows display of large amounts of information and great visuals as well as useful links to related sites, not easily communicated in a single brochure.
